BIOFUELS "INCREASE GLOBAL WARMING"

Switching to biofuels could do the planet harm than good, a Nobel Prize winning chemist has claimed. Professor Paul Crutzen said fertiliser used to grow energy-crops such as biodiesel contributes to global warming.
A much larger proportion of the nitrogen in fertilisers is converted into nitrous oxide - a potent greenhouse gas - than previously thought, the Dutch researcher told the New Scientist magazine.
