Test Engineer - HV SUBSTATION EXPERIENCE VITAL!

Working for a major player in the UK power engineering sector, you'll be responsible for system testing activities on substation automation systems and equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Point to point wiring checks and Applied Voltage Withstand Tests.
  • Downloading configurations to IEDs.
  • Set up test equipment and wiring (for example, plant simulator and secondary injection test equipment).
  • Testing performance of systems.
  • Support System Engineers in their activities.
  • Disassemble test wiring and equipment.
  • Test Documentation.
It's possible you may also be expected to modify cubicle wiring and support Commissioning Engineers on site...
You're qualified to HNC / HND level (or equivalent) in electrical / electronic engineering and you should be able to:
  • Read and understand wiring and schematic diagrams.
  • Understand configuration of protection IEDs and relays.
  • Demonstrable understanding of protection systems, secondary injections and electrical test safety regulations.
It is imperative that you have previous experience working on HV substations.
