Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (Enec) has received three bids for the contract to build the UAE's first nuclear power plant.
The bidders include a French group of Areva, GdF Suez and Total, which has nominated the US' Bechtel Corporation and France's Vinci as its contractors.
The other bidders are a team of the US' GE and Japan's Hitachi; and Korea Electric Power Corporation with Hyundai Engineering & Construction, also of South Korea.
The groups submitted technical and commercial offers for the scheme on 3 July.
Enec will shortlist two bidders and hold discussions with them in August. It is due to award the contract for the project on 16 September (MEED 19:6:09).
