Health and safety jobs market to benefit from UK's nuclear appeal

New health and safety jobs could be created in the UK as more international energy companies seek to get involved in the country's nuclear sector.
According to the chief executive of French power station builder Areva, Britain possesses one of the most attractive energy markets in the world because it is supported across the political board.
Speaking at the Nuclear Industry Forum in London this week, Luc Oursel suggested that more companies including his own would be looking to invest in the creation of nuclear facilities in the UK.
Mr Oursel told those in attendance: "Today the UK is clearly in the front rank of all global new build markets. It is a market where Areva wants to have a major role."
Areva is working with fellow French energy company EDF to build a series of reactors at four sites across the UK.
Last month, EDF announced a joint initiative with Centrica that could see the creation of new construction jobs in Britain.
Between them, the companies will fund the development of several next-generation nuclear power stations.
