E.ON to display Ferrybridge windfarm construction work plans

Energy company E.ON could be responsible for the creation of new construction jobs in Yorkshire under proposals to build a new onshore windfarm. The Ferrybridge facility, which would have a capacity of between 18 and 22.5 megawatts, is due to be constructed near Knottingley, which is located north-east of Pontefract. E.ON will host two exhibitions detailing its proposals for the windfarm, which could feature up to nine turbines.
The first event will be held at Brotherton Parish Hall on May 27th, while a similar exhibition will take place the following day at Hillam Communiuty Centre in Monk Fryston.
Ferrybridge project developer Liz Ambrose said that the company wants to keep local residents "fully informed" about its plans. "We think this is an excellent location for a wind farm and want to share our views and plans with local residents," she commented. Ms Ambrose added that people living in the area who come to either exhibition will be able to discuss proposals with the project team. The existing Ferrybridge power station consists of three coal-fired facilities located on the River Aire.
