NTR TO DECIDE ON AIRTRICITY BEST BIDDER

NTR’s board is believed to close to making a decision on a preferred bidder for European wind farms of its 51% owned subsidiary Airtricity. Reports this morning say the assets could fetch up to €1 billion. Late last year Airtricity sold its US division for €1.1 billion.
The renewable energy firm sold its US division for €1.1 billion in October, before choosing to undertake a review of its strategic options. The outcome of that review was that the company was put on the market, with Credit Suisse and NCB retained as financial advisors for the planned transaction. The other shares are owned by renewable energy company Ecofin and Airtricity staff and management.
Airtricity is a world leader in renewable energy development and wind farm operations, and has 14 wind farms throughout Ireland and Scotland. It currently supplies green energy to over 35,000 commercial customers in Ireland.
