Energy giants have scrapped plans to sue the Government after ministers signalled they would backtrack on 'carbon capture technology'. BP, Scottish and Southern, Conoco-Phillips and Centrica indicated they would seek compensation after the Government changed the rules in a competition to build Britain's first green coal-fired power station, effectively barring them. But now the Government is looking at a compromise.
